ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a hands-on Accounting Specialist with experience in managing financial records and knowledge of US and Canadian taxation laws. The accountant will report to senior management and play a key role in planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all company financial activities accountant. This includes direct responsibility for tax and regulatory compliance, accounting, finance, and transaction reconciliation with the CRM system.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; communicate monthly and annual financial statements; collate financial reporting materials for all business lines, and oversee all financial accounting.
  • Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting.
  • Manage accounting activities on tools like Netsuite and Quickbooks and implement processes to reconcile transactions with other business tools and systems.
  • Implement a robust contracts management and financial management/reporting system; ensure that the contract billing and collection schedule is adhered to and that financial data and cash flow are steady. The accountant will report to senior management and play a key role in planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all company financial activities to support operational requirements.
  • Recommend updates to and implement all approved business policies and accounting practices; improve the finance department’s overall policy and procedure manual.
  • Effectively communicate and present critical financial matters to senior management
  • Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, and liaise with external auditors.
  • Lead integration projects to facilitate the company’s finance and accounting tools connecting with other business tools
  • Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning processes in conjunction with the CEO; administer and review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and changes; and keep the CEO abreast of the organization’s financial status.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English
  • Accounting Qualification or Degree in Accounting or Finance, along with 3+ years of proven experience
  • Strong proficiency in accounting tools like NetSuite & QuickBooks  is a must
  • Proficient in Excel and Google Sheets coupled with strong analytical skills and detail-oriented
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices
  • Candidates with an understanding of US taxation laws and regulations will be preferred
  • Able to maintain high levels of integrity and confidentiality through your work
  • Ensure compliance with the law and company’s policies
  • Advise on long-term business and financial planning
